Jo Duffy - Copywriter | Content Strategist | General words-about-town

My name is Jo. Like most people my age, I'm 26. I’m also a copywriter, poet, carbohydrate connoisseur, compulsive Netflix binger and the mastermind behind the double-mattress-multiple-pillow-staircase-megaslide of 2016 (yes, that was me).

I live in East London and can usually be found tottering around the local area, either buckling under the weight of another inadvisably large houseplant I’ve just bought, limping due to the inadvisably small charity shop shoes I've just been unable to resist, or stopping for an in-depth chat with every dog that crosses my path.

I graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2013 with a first in BA English Literature with Creative Writing. My degree entailed an awful lot of writing, and I - unable to break the habit - have carried on writing more or less ever since. Copywise, I've produced B2B and B2C content across multiple digital and offline platforms for a variety of clients over the past few years, covering sectors ranging from real estate, finance and tech, to lifestyle, travel, cuisine and more.

Otherwise, I also write a fair amount of poetry and fiction in my spare time. My debut poetry collection ‘Other Troubled Creatures’ was published by Bare Fiction Press in 2016, after coming runner-up in the Bare Fiction Poetry Competition in 2015, and my short story ‘Daphne’s Angel’ appeared in the Bristol Short Story Prize Anthology in 2016. You can check out some more of my creative writing projects and commissions here if you're interested.
